A detailed, child-centred assessment to explore your child’s speech, language, and communication strengths and needs. This includes observation, play-based interaction, and structured tasks, giving you a clear picture of how your child understands, expresses and communicates. You’ll receive tailored recommendations and practical strategies to start supporting your child straight away. A full written report can also be provided, if required (for an additional fee), for sharing with schools, nurseries, or other professionals.
If your child is undergoing an Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment, I can provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy input. This can include a robust assessment of your child’s speech, language and communication profile, observations at home/school, liaisons with key people involved in your child's care and detailed written reports, and clear recommendations to ensure their needs are fully represented within the EHCP process.
Individualised, engaging therapy sessions designed around your child’s interests, strengths, and communication goals. Sessions can take place at home, nursery, or school, and always include ideas and strategies for you to carry forward between sessions — ensuring progress continues beyond the therapy room. Therapy sessions are usually up to 60 minutes (45 minutes direct with your child and 15 minutes liaison and parent/teacher support). For younger children, direct input may be shorter.
Waiting for Speech and Language Therapy can feel frustrating, especially when you know your child needs help now. I can offer flexible top-up sessions to build on NHS therapy, ensuring your child has the consistency they need to make progress.
If your child is waiting for an initial NHS assessment, I can also bridge the gap by providing early input — helping you understand their strengths and needs, and giving you practical strategies to use at home straight away.
This way, your child gets the support they need without losing valuable time, and you feel reassured that progress is happening while you wait for the NHS pathway to move forward.
A new diagnosis — whether autism, developmental language disorder, or another communication need — can bring both clarity and lots of new questions. I offer solution focused and reassuring post-diagnostic support for children and their families, helping you move forward with confidence.
This might include:
Post-diagnostic support is about giving your family the tools, reassurance, and space to feel empowered — celebrating your child’s strengths while meeting their needs.
Warm, nurturing support for parents and carers who want to feel confident in helping their child’s communication grow. I offer practical coaching sessions where you’ll learn strategies you can use every day at home — from playtime to mealtimes — making language learning natural and enjoyable.
If your child’s main challenges are in their nursery or school setting, I can provide support there directly, even if you are commissioning the service privately. This may include assessment, therapy sessions, strategy modelling with staff, and advice to ensure your child’s needs are understood and supported consistently across environments.
